Barbara graduated from CCA in the Bay Area in 1969. A few years later she settled in the village of El Rito, NM where she set up a studio and proceeded to build a career in the Ceramic Arts. 

She raised a family and continued pursuing her love of clay. Up until recently, she focused mainly on dinnerware and some decorative nonfunctional work. She is now focused on having fun with clay in whatever form. 

She is a long-standing member of the New Mexico Potters and Clay Artists association (NMPCA), and has served several terms on their board of directors. She is currently the president of the El Rito Art Association which oversees the El Rito Studio Tour and is in the process of infusing new life in the arts at Northern New Mexico College El Rito Campus. 

Her show runs throughout August.
